Date unknown but most likely 1961 when Walt Hriniak signed up with the Milwaukee Braves. Walt received a $75,000.00 bonus to sign with Milwaukee which was some serious money back in 1961. Walt was with the Braves minor league teams in Austin Texas 1964 and then Shreveport LA by 1968. In Shreveport LA is where he meet and was managed by Charlie Lau. Lau would have a life time impact on Walt Hriniak future as a hitting coach. Walt Hriniak made it the Atlanta Braves late 1968 and in 1969. 1970 he was with the San Diego Padres as catcher.

Walt Hriniak would go on to be in coaching starting with the Expos In Montreal then a hitting coach for the Boston Red Sox's and the Chicago White Sox's.
